Md. Mohibul Haque

Mr. Mohibul Haque took the charge of the Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on 16 April 2018. He was born in a respectable Muslim family at Lokhpur village under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district. His father was an officer of an autonomous organization and mother was a house-wife. Mr. Mohibul spent his boyhood as a residential student in Khulna Govt. Laboratory high school. He passed his H.S.C. from Khulna B.L. College. Then he obtained his BA (Hons) & MA degree in Political Science from Rajshahi University.

Mr. Mohibul Haque started his career in Bangladesh Civil Service in 1988. He joined BCS (Admin) Cadre and served as an Assistant Commissioner in Divisional Commissioner Office in Rajshahi. He also served with a reputation as a Senior Assistant Commissioner, Nejarot Deputy Collector, Revenue Deputy Collector, Land Acquisition Officer, Cognizance Magistrate in Bogura, Lalmonirhat, Barishal & Jashore. He served more than three years with a glorious reputation & efficiently as an Upazila Nirbahi Officer at Sitakundo in Chittagong. Then he was well known to the people of Sitakundo as helpful, friendly as well as their closer. He achieved a Gold Medel from the Ministry of Primary Education as the best officer for his enormous contribution in spreading education among the common people. He was enthusiastic to ensure education for this reason he had set up Jashore Collectorate School in Jashore. Now, this school is one of the best schools in Jashore District. He also set up a mural of Bonghobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the heart of Jashore city. For his various welfare activities for the common people, he was awarded ‘Mother Teresa Gold Medel’ by Mother Teresa Research Council in 2011. 

As Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Jashore District, he took various activities to reach the common people and transformed district administration as public service provider organization and achieved lots of honour and love. After that, he served as the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate in Dhaka. Here he served almost three years with honesty, sincerity and integrity. Then he was promoted as Joint Secretary and posted APD Wing in Public Administration Ministry. After that, he was promoted as Additional Secretary and posted in Home Ministry (Security & Service Division).

After joining in the Ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism he has been badly trying for speedy, accountable and transparent work for this Ministry as well as for the attached departments.

Mr.  Mohibul Haque is married and blessed with a daughter. His wife Syeda Afroza Begum is an officer of BCS (Admin) cadre of 1985 batch. His only daughter now is studying in the USA.
